Advanced Planning
Our approach: life stage planning
Advanced Planning is most effective when approached through Life Stage Planning. As your life evolves, so do your financial goals. A well-defined plan creates a strong foundation, making life's transitions smoother and more successful. Your Life Plan, built on your Statement of Financial Purpose, ensures every decision - from accumulation to wealth transfer - aligns with what matters most to you and your family.
Through conversations with individuals and families at different life stages, one common question arises: "What am I missing?" Below are key life phases and areas to consider to ensure every opportunity is thoughtfully explored.
Golden Years
Retirement & Legacy Planning
This is the phase of life we’ve worked towards; individuals in their mid-60’s+ have spent many years working towards financial goals and this is the time we help you enjoy your free time as you’ve transitioned to retirement. In this phase we make sure we are considering the below items to keep you on track:
• Social security and Medicare planning
• Ensure adequate income plan and manage risk of depleting assets
• Implement tax efficient retirement withdrawal strategy
• Update Estate planning documents to align with charitable and family wealth transfer goals
Retirement Preparation
Pre-Retirement Planning
We find that as individuals move into their 50’s and 60’s our conversations shift more to topics pertaining to an individual or couple’s prime earning years. As retirement approaches these individuals are now likely empty nesters and are potentially finding themselves in ‘sandwich years’ and caring for multiple generations. At this time we tend to focus our conversations on topics such as:
• Refine retirement goals and review income plan to realize your expectations
• Review how social security and pensions fit in your income plan
• Plan for medical and long-term care costs
• Plan for exiting business
Career Advancement
Managing Wealth
During this life phase we tend to partner with individuals or couples roughly ages 30-50 years of age as they work through the early years of a career and/or marriage. Together we consider the prioritization (and re-prioritization) of goals as you add the complexities of children, a home and career advancement. Strategies and topics we will consider are:
• Estimate kids education costs and building a savings plan
• Review of progress towards retirement goals and make adjustments
• Evaluate changing tax scenario with dual income household
• Managing risk with insurance and adjust Estate Plan for Family
Early Career
Accumulating Wealth
These are individuals in their 20’s to 30’s that have recently graduated from college or have just started their first career job. In this phase we see individuals start to be faced with questions about their student loans or other debt and need to start considering what saving for the future might mean. Through this phase we work through items such as:
• Building a budget
• Identify savings goals and ways to maximize saving
• Managing debt including student loans and preparing for big purchases
• Basic Estate Planning to prepare for the unexpected.

charitable giving
Current technology makes giving and donating easier than ever. But supporting your favorite charities thoughtfully, in a way that maximizes that gift's impact? That takes a deeper understanding of current tax regulations and your and/or your family's vision for the future. We can help you give thoughtfully to causes that mean the most to you, donate non-cash assets, maximize the tax benefits of your gift and set up trusts and/or foundations to create a legacy through planned giving.
professional partners
It is our priority to deliver a comprehensive plan that considers all facets of your financial life. This means partnering with other professionals such as attorneys and accountants to bring a unified team all with the objective of providing great outcomes for you and your family. These professionals may already be in place and we will integrate them into our process if that is the case. However, if you don’t have this team in place or are looking for a referral, we have a team of professionals we have done our due diligence on and can make introductions.
Retirement Planning
Your lifestyle will almost certainly change when you enter retirement - so should how you think about money.
Tax Planning
Making the most out of our clients’ money starts with recognizing all the ways taxes can impact their financial future.
Estate Planning
It's not just for the ultra-wealthy. An estate plan can help you protect your assets and make things easier for your heirs.
Education Planning
With more students graduating from college with student loan debt, funding an education can be one of the most impactful investments you can make.
